Put your helmet on and take your protein pills

Well I'll be going home today. It's been a relaxing couple of weeks, but I can't see how I could be on trip longer than this. Specially regarding access to the internet. When I come home I'll summarize my GPS-data and make some cool web pages out of it with google maps. The on-the-road version of the page would be complete by now but there was a below the equator bug, so the last week is missing. But here it is anyway.

Homestretch

After spending a couple of days at Bunaken Island I have now ventured south. First to Makasar, south of the equator. Didn't do much there, walked around watched a movie and had a look at the famous Makasar sunset. Then I got on a plane to Denpasar, Bali. This will be my last stop before going home. It's a little bit wet but still very nice. I'm staying in Sanur which is a very nice and clean little "village". Not thousands of taxi-,becak-,bemodrivers constantly honking on you and ridicously persistent hawkers trying to sell you some crap. Just a little but not thousands.

Going to Mandao

Hoping I could provide some pictures but the computers just get crappier and crappier. Anyhow to catch up I traveled by boat from Kuching to Sibu, mainly to see the Sarawak river up close. From Sibu I caught a flight to KK with MAS. Stayed in KK three days not doing much at all, except for a day trip to Manuken Island. Very Nice. Considering everything I was a little bit wary about going to Indonesia but decided to go anyway. To get there I took a plane to Tawau, not much of a town. From there I took the IndoMaya express boat to Tarakan, leaving at 12pm taking about 3,5 hours. Pretty comfortable ride, expected a lot worse. The day after that bought tickets to Manado from Tarakan via Balikpapan with Batavia Air costing about 1,1M IDR. Today I will be going to Bunaken Island, with the public boat which I think will leaving soon, so I have to go now.

Beaches and Apes

Spent two days at wonderful homestay in Damai, just north of Kuching, and got swim in the South China Sea as bonus. But the experience was the wonderful house in the middle of the jungle. Also went to Sarawak Cultural Village, very nice. Today I got to see the Orang-Utans being fed at Semengoah. Tomorrow I'll try to take the boat to Sibu.

Greetings from Kuching

Got in to Kuching yesterday. The airport main building almost totally torn down, their sort of building a new, but it looked weird. A very nice city a mix of traditional and western, and not a lot of tourists. Will propably be going to the beach tomorrow. Got my google-map to work (short of a sort function). Doesn't seem to work correctly in IE however. Map

First post from SEA-05

Arrived in Singapore yesterday after taking afternoon train from KL. Stayed at the same hotel as I did when I was here two years ago (South East Asia Hotel, near Bugis MRT), still OK. Bought some tickets for further traveling, first is tomorrow from JB to Kuching. Taking MAS instead of AirAsia in spite the higher price, because MAS has a direct bus service from downtown Singapore and they have more than one flight.
